Manifest the destiny

Wowsers! Looking back and reflecting on the past 6 months of my life is a trip. And I guess it literally was a trip, and a complete life-changning experience. We somehow managed to move out of one house, sell another, re-build the inside of the camper van (with some obstacles encountered), sell our house, say goodbye to our friends in Maine,  move our things into storage a few states away, visit family in Connecticut, spend 2 weeks revolutionizing my body in NYC, visit family in PA and NJ, travel across the country visiting friends all along the way, spend another 2 weeks visiting our friend Ryan on the California coast, James journeyed alone to learn all about permaculture and earth bag building in the desert, and then we all drove to our final destination- Todos Santos, BCS, Mexico! It has been quite the busy 6 months, an amazing adventure, and I am finding the exploration, curiosity, and manifesting of greatness never ending!

We have started something special here, and I am looking so forward to each day knowing I get to work on my business, explore this place with my kids, and encounter some great people along the way!

We have adopted another dog in our lives, Ms. Dali. She is a unique dog, maybe some great dane, or dalmation, but definitely 100% Baja mutt. She is only about 8 months old, but is catching up quickly to the size of River, but with much less fur and quite skinny. We have now acquired a dog for each place James and I have lived together- Pia from Prescott, River from Maine, Dali from Baja. James declared that we will not be moving again any time soon, as 4 dogs would just be too many. I begged him to let me get Dali after I fell in love after petting her for a few minutes at the farmer's market one Sunday. I found out she needed a home, and it was history from there. He told me it is my sole responsibility to train her. He wasn't realizing he really needed to train me so I could learn how to train her!!! oops....
Our Baja dog, Dali

So what I'm really dreaming about now is our future property. We have been searching high and low, near and far for the perfect spot to build our domes and our food forest. James is going to build us a beautiful set of domes to call home, along with space for guests, space for practicing movement (body rolling, kung fu, etc), and lots and lots of plants that provide us with shade, food, and love. We have probably looked at over 30 properties by now, but nothing has been quite right. We are being quite picky- but I know that our dream place is out there....

Last week I learned a more concrete way to "manifest" something that I really want. So here I am, writing about what I would like to manifest- a beautiful piece of property to accommodate our lives and intentions here in this town. I meditate on this everyday, the feeling it will give me and the visualization of my dream home.  It is worth a try to put it out there and see what comes our way!

What would you like to manifest in your life, and how clear are you in making that happen?

Lists

Wash clothes, feed kids, feed dogs, hang up clothes to dry, put away dishes, wash dishes, gather food for the day for the kids, take dogs for walk, wash dog who rolled in dead stink, feed kids, listen to school lectures, post on facebook for business page, update website, make plans for photo shoot for advertising coming classes, make almond butter, feed kids, feed dogs, laugh, spend time with kids, spend time with James, read more about meditating with kids, meditate with kids, figure out how to sync new phone calendar with computer calendar, clean out car and wash it, pick up mom from airport, roll on balls, foot waker routine for my own feet, put away clean clothes, fix bike, make more food, feed dogs, get more food for people and dogs, go to the bank, wash more clothes.....go to the beach to watch the sunset!

Whew! My to-do list sounds really nice to me. There are constants that will always be for me- feeding my family and my dogs, taking care of laundry, walking the dogs and inevitable washing the super stinky one, and spending time with my family. The other things in between have been a long time in the making. The constant thing I rely on that has helped me get to my place of being at the moment is....LISTS! I know some people shy away from lists. My husband is one of those. But he still finds a way to get things done- either I slip a list into his hand before he leaves the house, or he puts things in his phone, which will then beep at him and remind him to look at the list to see what he needs to be doing. I know another person who writes things down in no rhyme or reason on a sheet of paper all over the place. I don't make my list in specific chronological order, and if I end up realizing that is an important thing, then I re-write my list (that is my obsessive-complulsive side coming out).  I highly recommend lists, if not for ones own sense of accomplishment, then for the recording of ideas, or both!
I keep a small notebook on my desk (next to the phone and computer) where we can write things down that we need to accomplish- and periodically I will check in with the book to see if things have been done, forgotten about, or all together abandoned. At least I thought about it long enough to write it down!

Another kind of list that people like to do this year is the "New Year Resolution" list....but as my friend Zoe pointed out in a writing workshop today, it sounds a lot less intimidating and more inviting to call it a "What I want to cultivate and remember this year?" list. I like that. This year marks the beginning of a new era of life for me- a new location, new friends, new career....lots to take in.

So here's my list of things to cultivate and remember right now:
1. Cultivate and maintain peace within myself
2. NO judgements
3. Greet the world with openness
4. Smile more
5. Erase the bitchy- let go
6. Trust that what is meant to be, will be
7. Peace in my family
8. Don't let the other's judgements affect me
9. Be creative EVERY DAY!
10. Work hard, relax often
11. Make boundaries (don't let others affect me so easily)
12. Smile from my heart
13. Laugh often with my kids
14. Laugh often with James
15. Record, collect, and manage recipes
16. Create a successful business
17. Get better at Spanish
18. Roll on my balls EVERY DAY!
19. Do foot fitness routines on my wakers EVERY DAY!
20. Oil all over my body every day after shower
21. Use my tongue scraper every time I brush my teeth
22. Smile from my heart

What do you want to cultivate and remember this year?
